With spring shortly coming to an end and summer right around the corner, we are saying goodbye to the nudes and pastels and opening the door for the BOLD & BRIGHT! With all of the beach parties, BBQs, and other festivities, summer is the time to bring out those colors we shy away from all the other months of the year!

Step 1: Apply heat protective spray, cream, whatever you prefer. Make sure you apply it to all of your hair not just the outer sections. Get in there!
Step 2: Section your hair so you have smaller amounts to work with. Trust me, this helps so much especially if you have a lot of hair.
Step 3: Take a small amount into a strand and wrap your hair around the wand going away from your face. Do this to your entire head! Be patient! :P
Step 4: Pull the top, front section of your hair straight up and curl the hair down towards your scalp.
Step 5: Slide the wand out front your curled hair keeping the hair in the curling position. Bobby pin that curl in place.
Step 6: Brush out your curls with a wide toothed comb or brush. Don't worry -- you can't mess it up. Don't forget, you're going for a messy look here. Don't be afraid to brush!
Step 7: For extra volume, take random small pieces of your curled hair and tease the roots (comb your hair down towards your scalp). The more you tease the bigger the hair.
Step 8: Take out your bobby pin and fan out your hair. Now you just want to play with your hair with your hands a bit so that it all settles and bounces.

Hi, dolls! I get asked often how I curl/style my hair. So, I figured I would make a quick tutorial. Whether I use a curling iron, flat iron, or wand, I loveeee messy curls! I'm past the perfect prom curl.
I hope this video helps!
I seriously LOVE the Sexy Hair line. I use the Soy Renewal Argan Oil all the time and it makes my hair so soft and feeling fresh! I am not super big on hairspray generally unless a style really calls for it, but when I do use hair spray I like it to smell good lol! I use Big Sexy Hair, Bed Head by TIGI, or Garnier Fructis. I try to style without hairspray though -- all of my dance recitals and gymnastics meets overdosed me on hairspray growing up. I'm not about it. :P
I know a lot of girls are afraid of the curling iron! DON'T BE! It just takes practice. I hope this was helpful to you all!
Hi, love bugs! My outfits have been all over the place this week, but I wanted to share them with you and give you full break downs! Some of the items are new additions to my closet, so I was really excited to play around with them. Enjoy! xo

It's that time of the year again! It's cold, it's rainy, it's sweater weather! Some people think sweaters are for "old people and grandparents." For us fashion addicts, that's laughable. There are multiple ways to wear sweaters! In California, where we wear Uggs with shorts and tank tops, sweaters are worn all year round actually. Let's take a look at some ways you can wear your sweater.
My Top Picks (Click photo to get your very own!)
The nice thing about sweaters is they go with pretty much everything! You can dress them up and down, which makes them very important pieces in your wardrobe! It's like winning the lottery when you have a article of clothing that serves multiple purposes! Okay, well maybe not like winning the lottery exactly, but it's pretty close! ;)
Fashion is what you buy. Style is what you do with it.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I last spoke about holiday wear and exampled some looks.
This year I went with a nude palette with some contrasting fabrics. I'm all about detail. When you have a piece that makes a statement on its own, everything else can be simple and clean looking. Let your statement pieces take center stage!
I wanted to wear something that was fun and flirty but still modest and classy. The meshed long sleeves in this dress gave me just that! An open neck is so beautiful and the nude colored top gave me that look I was going for! Lace is definitely a favorite of mine. If done nicely, it can be very sexy and still modest and classy. I fell in love with this dress as soon as I tried it on. I debated between nude and black heels. I really wanted to keep the look soft, so I went with the nude heels to keep the attention on the dress instead of my shoes.
There were two looks within my family that really stood out to me. I think these two definitely won "best dressed" this year in my book. Allow me to show them off.
This look on my little cousin (20 years old) is flawless. She too stuck with a soft nude palette. One thing I love about this look is that it's age appropriate. High waisted bottoms and crop tops are very in right now. She played around with the 80's style while still keeping it modest. The elastic in the skirt still shows off her petite frame without giving everything away. Similar to my dress, she has contrasting fabrics. Both items are simple, but the change in fabric from the top to the skirt make the whole outfit stand out. Instead of high stilettos or platform heels, she wore wedges keeping the look young and playful. I think that was a perfect choice for this look!
My second best dressed goes to my mom (43 years old). Moms want to look good too! The key to dressing as a mom (or any older woman) is to dress age appropriate. Be beautiful not a "MILF." I loved what my mom chose to wear! Like my mom, a lot of women want to be dressed but don't necessarily have the desire to do a lot to get there. Understandable. A romper is PERFECT! It's easy, simple, and stands out! The tighter middle still allowed my moms curves to be displayed and the flow of the rest made sure people knew that she didn't have to show it all off. The V-cut was just the right length to give an open neck without being too revealing. Throw on some heels and you're good to go! I'm so proud of my mom's sense of style and beauty!
I hope you enjoyed getting dressed for the holidays this year!
If your family is anything like mine or your holidays are as randomly filled as mine, getting dressed for the holidays can be tricky. For me, every year, I have multiple stops throughout the day visiting both sides of my families. My mom and dad's sides of the family are dramatically different from one another, so what may be appropriate for one may not be appropriate for the other and visa versa. I usually end my holidays spending some time with friends and I never know where we will end up, so when I get dressed for this year's thanksgiving, I want to make sure I am: 1. COMFORTABLE 2. appropriately dressed for any location or occasion 3. weather appropriate. I have put together some examples of outfits that are suitable for different ages, occasions, weather, and style. I hope you find these helpful! xoxo
I find dresses to be perfect for the holidays. Growing up, for Easter, Christmas, etc. my grandmother would either make or buy my cousin and me a new dress to wear on the occasion. So, my go-to during the holiday season is definitely a dress. There are three different types of looks going on with the dresses I have exampled here. All three dresses cater to a different age group and style. I hear a lot of women say, "I like to be dressed up, but I want to be comfortable." I completely understand, ladies! I am all about outfits that make you look and feel dressed while also being comfy. If you notice the fabrics and the fits of the dresses, they are comfortable materials. Material makes such a huge difference in your comfortability. All three of these style dresses flow and form to your body.
For my chic pants ladies, these looks are perfect! This is the perfect time of year to pull out your peacoats and trench coats. A simple pant and top look can be incredibly enhanced by your coat -- your statement piece. If you take a look at the outfits in the bottom picture, you'll notice the simplicity of the outfit and the details in the coat. You don't want your items to compete with each other. So, decide which part of your look you want to stand out. There is a look for anyone and everyone in these examples. Use them, alter them, play around ... have fun!
I haven't forgotten about you, fellas! The wonderful thing about men's fashion is: almost everything for you guys is comfortable! Lucky ducks! One thing that I really like about men's wear is the ability you all have to be so sleek and detailed and so simplistic all at the same time. Many men complain that there "aren't as many clothing options for men as there are for women." That is so, so untrue! There are so many ways to dress up your everyday look the same way we women do. Let's take a look at some of the examples I've laid out. I think a nice pair of pants, a button up and a sweater is a very handsome look. As show below, there are many types of sweaters you can pair allowing everyone's style to mold nicely into this outfit choice. You can do a classic striped sweater, an angled collared sweater (very European!), or even something more edgy -- perhaps with some leather in it. The options are endless! Throw on a pair of dress shoes and you're set to go!
Here's another look for you: jeans, button up, sports coat. I've pulled two different looks for this style to cater to a few "types." The top picture shows more of a classic approach to this style. There is something very dignifying about this look. It definitely makes a statement. It says you have business to attend to, yet you can still be relaxed. It tells us that you can be serious and fun. Remember, everything you wear says something about you wether you realize it or not.
This is the same style with a bit of an edgier approach. Notice the print in the inside of the collar and on the inside fold of the sleeves. Although the shirt itself is "plain," the little touches of print make the shirt a statement piece. It's all in the details sometimes. Here is another style of sports coat in a less classic design. The collar stands up instead of folding down as shown in the sports coat above. The contrast of different fabrics for the collar and the coat's body also make a statement. Throwing some Timberlands with a look like this definitely adds a twist and who doesn't like things shaken up a little?
I really hope this was helpful and that each of you have a fabulous and safe Thanksgiving!
